Past, Present and Future of CERT

FEMA Region II is partnering with the State of California and the National CERT Association to host this nationwide webinar on the Past, Present, and Future of CERT. The program will begin by celebrating the memory of Frank Borden, the “Father of CERT,” who led the development of the volunteer training program in 1985 as the deputy Fire Chief at the Several of Frank’s colleagues will recount their behind the scenes story about creating this program and its early years. This will be followed by presentations from FEMA and other leaders on the current landscape of CERT, and then presentations that discuss where the program is going.
