How are people going to respond when they receive an alert? What do people think about ShakeAlert? Are people preparing for earthquakes? This Social Science Symposium will explore the answers to those questions. As the full public rollout of ShakeAlert is almost complete on the West Coast of the United States, social science has been fueling communication strategies and approaches with a growing body of research. Attendees will learn about the research conducted by the ShakeAlert Social Science Working Group (SSWG) and international colleagues through panel discussions and oral presentations.
